If you have contacts located in both your iCloud account and Google account, you can sync them in the Contacts app using CardDev, a protocol which allows you to sync contacts between Google and your Mac. Note that they are stored separately from your iCloud contacts; that is to say, they will not be merged together.
To set this up, you will need to launch System Preferences from the Contacts application and then click the Accounts tab. Click the + symbol to create a new account.
Now you don’t want to click Google here – that’s only if you are setting up a Google email and/or calendar account. Instead, click the radio button next to other contacts account. In the CardDev screen, enter in your user name (without the gmail.com), your password and the google.com in the server name.
Important – If you use two-factor authentication on Google, you cannot use your gmail password but must create an application specific password to use here.
