If you have several files that you want to move to new folder or subfolder, you might think that this would involve several steps – creating the folder, going back to the original folder, selecting the files you want t move, copying them to the clipboard, going back to the new folder and pasting them in. Whew! That’s a lot a fiddling around.
There is, however, a much easier way: right-click the files you want to move to a new folder and then choose New Folder with Selection. You will then be prompted for a name for the new folder and that’s it – you’re done. A new subfolder, containing the selected files in created in the active folder.
Quick Guide: Create a New Folder with Selected Files
- Select the files that you want to move.
- Right-click the selection and choose New Folder with Selection from the menu.
- Type in the name for the new folder and press Return.
