In yesterday’s post, we discussed how to disable the Save and Close iCloud dialog boxes if you are not storing your documents on iClouds. There may be instances, however, when you might want the dialog boxes to appear when you use a specific application. For instance, I might save all my Pages documents on iCloud but prefer to save my Numbers spreadsheets on Dropbox. Luckily, the Documents & Data setting is not an all or nothing deal. From the iCloud preference pane under System Preferences, there is a little gray box titled Options next to the Documents and Data setting. Clicking it will display all installed applications that store data on iCloud. From this window, you can selectively choose which applications do not display the Open and Close iCloud dialogs.
To Choose Which Applications show iCloud Dialog Boxes
- Select > System Preferences from the menu.
- Click the iCloud icon in the System Preferences pane.
- Ensure that the box next to Documents & Data is checked.
- Click the Options box next to Documents & Data.
- Uncheck the box next to any applications for which you don’t want iCloud dialogs to appears.
- When finished, click Done.
