Looking for a last minute gift idea for the comic book lover on your list? Or perhaps you’re a bit of a comic book aficionado yourself? If so, you might want to consider a Marvel Unlimited subscription. This is my second year as a subscriber and feel that I’m definitely get my money’s worth. I actually received my first year as a gift and gladly renewed when the time came.
Marvel Unlimited is a member subscription service that provides unlimited access to the Marvel Unlimited digital comic book library – think Netflix but for comics. How it works, is that for $9.99 a month or $69 a year, you can read classic as well as many new digital comic books (over 13,000 issues are available at the moment) on your Web browser or iOS App. I exclusively use their iPad App, which is pretty good, in my opinion. And for those times that you’re not online, you can download up to twelve issues at a time for offline reading.
Marvel typically adds new issues every week, though you’re not going get the most recent issue of your favorite comic – however, many become available as soon as six months after they are released.
You can learn more at the Marvel Unlimited website at: http://marvel.com/comics/unlimited/. You can also check out their app on the App Store.
