When you create a new tab in Safari, thumbnails of your most visited Web sites display. This is called the Top Sites display. Click any tab to jump to the webpage associated with the thumbnail. The thumbnails displayed will change, depending on your browsing habits.
You can however, permanently pin sites so that they always display in your Top Sites list. To do so, move your cursor over the thumbnail you want to pin and then click the pin icon. This will mark it as a permanent top site. If you wish to remove a site from the Top Sites page, move your cursor over the thumbnail you want to remove and then click the x icon when it appears. Each time you delete a site, the thumbnail is replaced by the next most visited site.
If you wish to add a specific site to the Top Sites page, type in the URL in the Address Bar of the site you wish to add and press Return. Then, click the icon to the left of the URL and drag it to the Top Sites icon on the Favorites Bar (the Top Sites icon consists of rows of dots, 4 across and 3 down). If the Favorites bar isn’t visible, choose View ➪ Show Favorites Bar from the menu.
Once you’ve pinned your sites, they will always be available from the Top Sites page whenever you create a new tab or open Safari to a blank page.
