I’ve come across Web pages from time to time whose font was so small that it was difficult to see. Or perhaps I want to read a footnote that is too tiny to read. In such as case, it might be helpful to temporarily enlarge sections of your screen.
Mac OS X comes with a built-in feature that allows you to use keyboard shortcuts to zoom in on portions of your screen. These are:
Turn zoom on and off: ⌥ ⌘ 8
Zoom in: ⌥ ⌘=
Zoom out: ⌥ ⌘-
Toggle Smooth Images: ⌥ ⌘\
If your Mac doesn’t respond to these shortcuts, then you may have to turn on this feature. To do so, choose ➪ Preferences from the menu, click Accessibility and then check the box next to Use Keyboard Shortcuts to Zoom.
