Awhile ago, I talked a bit about Services and how much time they can save you. Today’s tip is for a service that I use when I need to jot something down quickly: the Make a New Sticky Note service.
If you’re browsing the Web and come across a phone number, address, quote, article, etc. that you want to remember, select desired text and press the Shift+ ⌘+Y keystroke combination. The selected text will be placed in a note in the Stickies application. The nice thing about the Stickies application, is that all of the notes remain pinned to the window unless you close an individual note .
By the way, this tip will work with any application where there is selectable text (this has at least been true in my experience).
