Did you know that you can annotate PDFs in the Preview app? This is a well-hidden feature that many folks don’t even know exists. The trick to using annotations in Preview is that you first need to display the Edit Toolbar by clicking on the Show Edit Toolbar link on the Preview toolbar.
From the Edit toolbar, you can add notes, insert plain boxes or bubbles (and add text inside the bubbles), circle and underline text, draw arrows, add colored highlighting and more. Once you’ve added text, boxes or bubbles, you can rearrange them as well as control their size by clicking & dragging on the sizing handles.
To see a list of all annotations in a document, choose View > Highlighting and Notes from the Preview menu.
