A wonderful little app called Bartender came to my attention awhile back and it has made my list of essential Mac apps. What it does is cleans up your Menu Bar by placing your icons in the Bartender Bar. What this basically does is hides them from view as they are now stored under one icon (the Bartender icon). Click the Bartender icon to display the Bartender Bar or use a hot key that you have chosen. It’s important to note that the Menu Bar apps work the same whether they are under the Bartender bar or on the main Menu Bar.
From Bartender preferences, you choose which icons remain on the Menu Bar and which are hidden (display only on the Bartender Bar), as well as specify the order of your icons, choose to display updated Menu Bar apps for a specific period of time, choose to hide the item both from the Menu Bar and the Bartender Bar, and much more.
I personally love this app as it has really cleaned up my Menu Bar and given my Mac more of a minimalist look. I have to admit that my cluttered Menu Bar was getting on my nerves.
