Activity Monitor is a gem of a utility that come bundled with your Mac that can help you monitor system processes – and help you to discover which of them might be hogging your system’s CPU or memory. All of the current processes are displayed in the Activity Monitor window.
But did you know that you can configure the appearance of the Activity Monitor icon in the Dock?
If you right-click on the icon while it’s in the Dock and point to Dock Icon, you will see a list of the different processes that you can configure the icon to display: Show CPU Usage, Show CPU History, Show Network Usage, Show Disk Activity or Show Memory usage. The default is Show Application Icon.
