After many years of running the Daily Mac Tips blog (RIP), I’ve decided that it’s time for a change of direction. Back when I first started dailymactips.com, there was a clear division between “Mac” and “PC,” and there wasn’t a lot of overlap between the two operating systems. Since then, things have changed…a lot. More and more apps and web services are now cross-platform, with many people accessing their favorite applications from web browsers, phones, and tablets. We’ve become more mobile and our apps more versatile.
I’ve found that the majority of applications that I use these days are now available on both the Mac and Windows PC, iOS as well as Android. I personally work on both Windows and Mac, iOS and Android, so it no longer made sense for me to only talk about Apple technology.
Thus, I have rebranded the blog. Daily Mac Tips is now “Roger Talks Tech,” and the URL has changed to: https://rogertalkstech.com. I’ve also created a corresponding YouTube channel though I haven’t as of yet recorded any videos.
Now, this isn’t going to be a gadget review site — there are plenty of those out there already. Rather, Roger Talks Tech is going to be about making technology work for us; that is to say, using technology to help us be more productive. I’ll be looking at different productivity systems, productivity software and how to make the most of today’s tech in a mobile world. The purpose of the Roger Talks Tech YouTube channel will be to provide more in-depth demonstrations of productivity software and tools so you can more easily see whether an application is something you want to explore further.
Are there any software programs or productivity systems that you would like to see featured here? If so, please let me know in the comments.
I hope you all like the new direction that we’re going and if you have any questions, let me know.
